Thats terrible, how did it die? My neighbour bought a real expensive rottweiler puppy, and had loads of trouble with his health. Hes huge, and very very friendly, but his ligament snapped in his leg, and now hes been diagnosed epileptic.Comment

Well, Mattie contracted a form of cancer, I believe, and was dead in 3 days.
They are great dogs, incredibly friendly. But they don't seem to survive as long as little dogs - about 10 is the norm, so I'm told.

A lurcher is an irish hunting dog, bred from greyhounds, collies and terriers. It must* have 75% greyhound to be a lurcher, but there isnt a breed standard. They arent a recognised breed, they are super soppy, love to run and make great pets.Originally Posted by mill
*wrong word here, they are generally greyhound mix, but any sighthound mix would still be considered a lurcher, as long as it carried the dominant looks and traits.

Two week ago we got Murphy, a baby Golden Retriever born on Christmas day. He shares our house with Oreo, a little black cat about five years old. Oreo doesn't seem to like the puppy too much. He sort of growls and hisses a lot. Murphy thinks it's a game. We had another Golden named Charlie that Oreo was quite fond of, but he devoloped stomache cancer and we had to let him go last August. I pray he's there waiting for us when it's our turn!Blessed are they who expect nothing, for they shall not be disappointed!Comment
