    I don't use Nortons/Symantec anymore. It is bloated software that slows the computer down and puts crap everywhere such as liveupdate (which does not get removed when software in uninstalled).

    I use Adaware, Spybot, Avast AV, CCleaner, Tracker Eraser Pro and Regcleaner. I check for updates every day and if one is found. I will do a scan.

      @nwg

      At symantecs site, there is a tool you can download to remove all traces of the bloatware. When my system crashed, I phoned them (and got through) and they linked me to it. As it turned out, I had to scrub my drive and start all over again. Here is the link to the tools information:

          All four are seperate software programs and work well together.

          Virus protection------AVG (updates and average of two times per day)
          Firewall protection----Zonealarm
          Ad protection--------Ad-Aware SE
          Registry cleaner------JV16 power tools

          Very few virus have come, but contained them in the virus vault and erased them.

            I have AVG, Zone alarm, Ad-Aware also, and use CC Cleaner, all free, on one of my PCs and Norton on another PC. They've both been doing a great job for me>

                  Using the same apps as you and I am more pleased then all the "all in one" programs I bought in the past.
