Here in Australia, Bigpondmovies have begun offering movie downloads for a fee (together with a player). I am not a member but I guess they are divx with a software divx player, which somehow expire after a couple of days (DRM?). Some are SONY titles which (at least in the US) have ARccOS (we see little ARccOS here).

Be interesting to see how they are technically made up, but quite frankly, I couldn't care less. The last place I wanna watch a flick is on my PC.

as digital starts taking over broadcasts then capture will rival dvd rips
and putting on the internet to share will infringe upon copyright holders.
Your right to fair use and time shift won't change, but P2P wasn't in the equation in 1984.

so does that mean that ANY tv series not yet released on DVD is free from copyright? i don't think so. if you download, watch and keep an entire season of futurama (high quality tv captures) on your pc, would you go out and buy the dvd afterwards?

Think about it, do you want watermarked stuff? If not, you would likely buy the DVDs too.

One example of a TV capture I downloaded was the Pokémon Chronicles mini-series.
This series was dubbed to English and shown on Toonami in the UK. They have never even been aired in the US, let alone a DVD release. So the only way for Americans to see them is to move to England or download the episodes.
