What **was** that movie?

I'm trying to remember the name of this movie.. it could be considered a 'B' movie where this college kid is trying to come up with this love potion, and gives his mixtures to different girls all with bad results. This one scene I specifically remember... their in a car driving, and she starts farting (the dudes classmates that dislike him put some fart stuff in the mix during lab)... next scene he's wearing a gas mask and she's so upset and nervous that she gets out a cigarette and a matchbook.... he says "NO DON'T LIG<BOOM!!!>" the car explodes...

So does anyone know the name of this movie? I thought it might be Love Potion No. 9 but I'm not too sure now.

I want to say it was this movie I haven't seen it in a long time but I am almost positive this is it

@BR7, yeah that's what I think it may be too.... but I'm not too sure since I don't remember a gypsie. I do remember the geeky boy was called into the deans office, where all the women he tried his potions on were present. And they all were messed up in some way because the potions were messed up.

I'll have to rent this to see if it's the one I'm thinking of. I'd hate to buy the darn thing and it not be the one. Thanks for the input though! If we're both thinking it's the one then it may just be!
