Not being able to rent 2-Disc Special Editions...

Is it me, or most of the movie companies not allowing there 2-disc sets to be in block buster? Say like for The Chronicles of Narnia, The Polar Express, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and etc.

    Why is this?!?!?!?!?!?

I guess they figure people only want to rent and watch the movie. While a huge fan of a movie would likely buy the special edition version.

I know when I bought the 2 disc King Kong I thought I saw it as a rental too.

But, the second disc was just the movie only in French. I don't know how many people around here that would HAVE to watch it in French vs. English.

Online rentals only send the movie disc but Blockbuster here rent 2 disc dvd's with both disc's.

your lucky then here they wont when I talked to them in customer service when I did do the on line movie rental thing. They told me that I could get both disc on a 2 disc special movie BUT I would have to request the second disc and that would count as a separate rental. SO when they let you have 3 dvd's at a time if one was a 2 disc there are 2 of your dvd's.

It is like that over here too. Gladiator 3 disc was 3 seperate rentals but I currently have A Bridge Too Far 2 disc special edition and that is only 1 rental.

I remember when the tv show started getting released on dvd. The block buster by my house used to rent out a whole season as one rental.

Now they have them broken up into separate discs.

Yes I remember that too! That was so cool, getting to rent a whole season and having like a week to look all the bloopers and all your favourite episodes.

I guess they werent making enough money on them as one rental.
Look at Lost season 1 that one is 7 discs. Now they get $3.99 X 7 for that season.

Yep, and people like me that never watched the first season will likely end up renting them because now I think I want to see it,lol.

                            Movie passes?

With my Kung Fu, I gave up waiting for online rentals, I got 8 dl sides for 30$ from amazon.

When they first came out I rented the first 2 discs and got hooked. Didnt want to rent all 7 separatly so I ened up buying the whole season 1. That may also be a stratagy to get people to buy instead of rent.
