I only buy used Subaru"s, the 2.5 models had bad cylinder head designs that routinenly blow heads gaskets at around 130K miles. The 2.2 models are bullet proof. The new Subaru's are ridiculous in price. I am on my 3rd Subaru and usually get about 260k out of them before I move on to another one. My current one has 190K on it (1998Legacy Wagon) and I put a used tranny in it yesterday. Gonna squeeze every penny out of this one. -
I have nothing against 'Used' cars. I was just using automobiles as a comparative.
The first two cars i ever owned were 'Used' classics. The first was a '66 Chevy Nova with an inline 6Cylinder engine. And the next was 'my' favorite of all time, a '69 Mercury Cougar with a Boss 302 V8! That baby could Burn Rubber.........Downhill!!! I miss 'that' one.MBK

My first car was 1962 galaxy with a 250. I bought for $200 from a mechanic. What a mistake! Mechanics fix there own cars as cheap as possible. It lasted 6 months though. I did not know what an oil change did!! I blew the engine at about 100 mph. It threw the rod right through the block. Oh well, expensive experience at that time because I was making $1.85 per hour.Gary D

1st 1968 Beetle, then 1972 Beetle, '76 Toyota Corona, yech! then'72 Toyota Celica, and a 1969 Chevy Panel Van Extended, which lead to 10 years of partying, so I don't remember the inbetweeners. Don't let your kids ride in panel vans!!!Comment

That sounds painful, i have a 23' LaSalle Class A motorhome (1986). I went that route in case I had a head on I'd win. Unfortunately I was T-Boned in my MG and broke my lower back and neck, I am actually still recovering from that. The ironic part was I was getting a part for my Motorhome, go figure.Comment
