nwg, nice Pink Floyd collection! Got to see them once in Kansas City, awesome concert, wish I coulda seen more!
I have never seen them. They were also only down the road one year at Knebworth. They have big concerts there from time to time. I make do with their DVD's.
It was nice seeing them back for Live 8 last year even if it was on TV.
Nice looking turntables.
The turntable with the separate motor in the first few pics isn't actually mine. It is a Project RPM9 which costs £1000. That beings to my Dad. The others are on my Technics SL-1210.

I saw them in '75 (or was it '76) in Pittsburgh, Pa when they were doing Dark Side Of The Moon and then again in '77 in Cleveland, Ohio when they did Animals. Best concerts I ever saw and I'll never forget them. I saw them again in '89 in Cleveland, but they weren't the same. Roger Waters was gone from the group. They played in the pouring rain for a while. Great group from the good 'ole days.
Blessed are they who expect nothing, for they shall not be disappointed!

They all came back for Live 8. They along with The Who were the only decent groups at the London concert. Roger Waters is now looking old. I have seen Gilmour on his own and he isn't very good when trying to do Floyd tracks. He was doing tracks that needed Waters as the vocals. Roger Waters can do any Floyd track on his own and it still sound great.
I have played my vinyl of The Wall every month for nearly 18 years (the same vinyl as well). It is definitely my favourite album.
I don't play the picture discs. The SL-1210 does sound great (better than CD). The technology in the turntable has been around before the 1200/1210 came out (Direct Drive with magnets instead of Belt Drive). My 30 years old SL-1700 deck uses the same DD technology so they sound the same. I use Shure cartridges on both of them.
1210 didnt change for a long time, the basics are the same all these years...
I have the mark 2. That is the popular one with the DJ's and have been around for 20 years. The current mark 5 is just a little bit different but the insides is the same. All DD Technics use the same platter setup. It is only the tonearm and whether it is manual/auto or auto return.
To have a look at the Direct Drive decks. Here is a good website for pictures.
