I actually got our lava lamp from my uncle for Christmas 3 years ago. My son loved it so it went in his room. LOL
Yes people still give lava lamps for Christmas gifts. :Comment

Thanks, Mikey!
@ PA
Thanks, yes, those are my pics. I take hundred of pics on vacation, alot of them just average or less then average and then you get a couple of good ones! Taken with just a simple little digital Cannon Power Shot S45. I've got a few others that are like that of the Grand Canyon I'll have to post.

Wow, the AT 3 times! Now that's impressive! Part of the problem with the day hikes is our dog. He always goes on vacation with us and you can't take him on the trails. He loves to go (we've taken him on some of the less traveled short trails) but dogs and bears just don't mix and besides you can get fined too. Those long ones are too long to leave him in the cabin. One of these days! We do need to spend a little time in the Cosby area, always going to but never quite get that done.
Cataloochee was another one of those we always talked about but never quite got there so last year we made a point to. It was really a great experience when all the elk came out late afternoon. The calls they make are quite unique, almost haunting. Got a little too close to a young male last year, boy they are big!! You know how your not supposed to run, I know this, read all the wildlife tips, been bear watching for years, but boy you should have seen me turn my back and run like a little girl when he came at me!!l Forgot all about those rules then!lol Lesson learned. My husband said he wished he had the camera so he could have taken a picture of my face.
