Telemarketing Calls on Your Cell Phone

Yesterday morning on the way to work my cell phone rang and it was some airhead trying to get me to buy a vacuum cleaner.

Anyone else get those kinds of calls on their cell phones?

I added mine to the Do Not Call List, that means if they call I can sue them

You guys should try it... not sure where the application is, but my mom added both of our home lines and all of our cellphones to the do not call list, making it illegal for any telemarketer to call us now

Yeah what's worse are these companies who have found a way around these no call lists. I got a ten minute message on my voice mail explaining to me that they would be contacting me from time to time for various surveys and there was nothing i could do about it because of the type of business they are the no call list does not apply to them. Luckily i have only got one call from them after that.
What i wish is that i could stop people who don't speak english from calling my number ten different times looking for there cousin. I had this elderly man who called me for a month because he refused to believe that my number was not his daughters. I feel bad for him because obviously he had some kind of dimensia, but it got old real quick.

          10. Can I register my cell phone on the National Do Not Call Registry?

From this webpage from the FTC

Yes, you may place your personal cell phone number on the National Do Not Call Registry. The registry has accepted cell phone numbers since it opened for registrations in June 2003. There is no deadline to register a home or cell phone number on the Registry.

And they are working on unsolicited faxes also.

I never turned the voice mail on on my cell, I have call waiting\caller id on mine and it is always on...if it's that important they will call back.
