I like Ron Howard's directing (Apollo 13) but Tom Hanks best work so far is in comedies. If you have ever seen the movie "Big" and the piano key scene, you will see he is also a great physical actor as well.

I think Tom Hanks is a great talent, but was miscast in the DaVinci Code, IMHO.
Ive seen Big, very funny, but wasnt that made 20+ years ago. Piano scene was great though.Comment

I'm not sure Hanks was best for DVCode either - he doesn't come across as the great Art historian, does he? But Dan Brown made sure the film followed the book closely, which was pleasing.
I thought Terminal was Hanks' best work.

I think Hanks was good in The Green Mile and the Volunteers. He's done many good movies. But I agree, when I read Brown's novels I didn't picture Hanks as the lead. Russel Crowe plays a great rugged scholar and Hugh Jackman would have done a good job as well, remember Swordfish?
And Hanks is now a has-been! LOLComment
