I have had my car in the middle of a 20 foot long 2 and half foot deep ICE cube. But this I have never seen before today, not this bad.

I have seen ice that thick on the shore of Lake Superior in the fall and spring. With the proper wind and wave action, the ice can build up on the rocks. The water can be a lot warmer than the air and rocks. As soon as it hits the rocks, a little bit freezes and little bit falls off. It can be spectacular on cliffs and rocky shorelines.

Dang right, we lost our power for 3 days! When it came back on it was 50 degrees in my house - luckily we stayed at someone else's house for those 2 nights.
And we got Monday and Tuesday off school due to "cold weather"

Oh its all a matter of what your used to I guess.

I do remember a ice storm many years ago back in 1976, My parents didnt like it much. But for me it was the best, I put on my ice skates and skated every where. The whole neighorhood was a massive skating rink for me.

I have experienced "cold". Spent a winter in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan then moved to Kalamazoo for a year. I was younger then and it was easy to adjust.

I do have to admit that I like the cold, just not THAT cold! LOL

I thought the same thing myself when I saw them! See a lot of those formations (not the ice, sadly) in the LaCrosse area, too!
