It is a shock to see MS as # 1, but it probably has 95%(conservative) of all computer systems in the world. Exploiting linux will not give a hacker the same # of affected computers compared to MS.
The biggest problem I see is those 11 days or more that your computer is unprotected.
If your firewall, anti-virus, and/or anti-spyware fails you, how long does it take these companies to react?

And you can't get viruses on a Mac because no one uses Macs, not even the hackers
