Looking for subwoofer

I am now looking to get me a new subwoofer for my SS system.The one I have now can not handle volume with out making a popping noise.I have looked around and I have found a site with some recs.I would like to see what you guys recommend as well keep in mind I do not want to spend a ton of green on it $100-$250 max .Thanks
