    dvd edit?

hi all. i'm new here--hope this is the right forum for this question. i wonder what software is best for editing, rather than ripping an entire, dvd from another source dvd. i have no problem making back up copies of entire dvd movies, but what i'd really like to do is take one of my movies and edit out all the scenes with a certain character in them.... and copy all the remaining scenes to a new dvd. is this easy to do? many thanks!

Use a free program called "Smartripper" that can rip out certain chapters as VOB files. You can accomplish this also with DVDShrink in "Re-author" mode. Then use a DVD authoring program to assemble a new DVD.
