    Copied DvD plays wrong

    Hi,

I copied some dvd's using DvDshrink. When I play the movies, they begin somewhere in the beginning of the movie. There are no menu's etc. The computer plays it just fine. I tried to update the ifo, with IFOupdate, but this program allways reports an error. Can someone help me to play the dvd's correctly?

I shouldn't update your IFO unless you're certain there's something wrong with it.
If it's ok in the computer I'd check www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers for brand compatibility.
Have you followed the DVD Shrink guides?

Yes I followed the guide, I don't think I did something wrong. The website you provided shows my dvd player is compatible (medion md7457). Isn't the IFO file corrupt after you copied the DvD?

Did you check brand of media? I've never touched IFO's myself.

I have burned several dvd's and they just played fine in the dvd-player. I used the same dvd's and the same player. So the problem must be the copy/shrink process. I think the IFO file is corrupt, because it contains the information about the dvd. But I am not sure. Does DvDshrink update the IFO?

To keep away any doubt; I didn't change anything to the IFO. Just ran DvDshrink and burned.

Seems strange that it plays fine in the computer. Can you try another standalone? I'm still wondering about media.
I think you must be right about the rewritten IFO considering a Shrunk structure can contain fewer VOB's.

I don't have another one, I'll try this weekend at a friend of mine and I'll let you know the results. Thanks for your help.

The problem you're having could be caused by not having the right "VTS Sectors" (they're crucial for standalone playback but soft players don't always need them). Load in IFOEdit and do "Get VTS sectors". This might fix your problem.

                  A couple PgcEdit guides
MenuShrink can shrink your menus to 5-10% of their original size.
