how to author standalone vro file?

    Hi,

I somehow lost ifo files coming with the vro file. It was my first recording onto a Hitachi dvdcam. Now, TMPGenc (as well as Sonic RecordNow! Deluxe, Nero Vision Express 2) only reads 2min33sec from the vro file. I tried to use ifo files from another recent vro file, but I was unsuccessful. Converting it means loosing chapters.

If anyone has any idea on how to author a standalone vro file would be really appreciated.

    Many thanks.

Try renaming it to a MPG file. If you have only one recording then it should work.

The ifo's are needed if you have more than one recording. They store the start and end times of each recording. Other things such as chapters will be lost as well.

I would then import them into TMPGEnc DVD Author to create DVD files. You will need to add you chapters back in.

A 30 day trial is available.

I'm not totally sure, but I Believe "Ulead DVD MovieFactory" will directly output a VRO file to a new DVD-related file structure.
