A console question

Hi i wonder if it is possible to copy a ps2 game(DVD) and then play it on your console without moding it? this might be a noob question but really why shouldent it work, it`s the same exakt copy. And if it doesent work anyone know why?

tried it mate but wont work......something to do with the chips in the ps2. I have the older chip so unable but the new ones allow this. One thing maybe to do. Load up an original and hold your finger on the eject button. Once a gold cd comes up then insert your copy and click on the cd. Hopefully it will load. Just make sure the original is bigger in size than the copy.
