    DVD Formats

I read somewhere that DVD+RW more widely accepted especially by standalone DVD players. Is this true? Trying to understand when I rip should I rip to DVD-R or DVD+R. Obviously I would rip to a format supported by the DVD player I wish to use to view the DVD but that issue aside are there other reasons I should choose one format over the next?

    Thanks
Sorry for asking a question that probably is asked so often.

Opposite. DVD-R is becoming more widely accepted. It's also able to hold a few bytes more than dvd+r
