Burn Failed - error

I have backed-up over 100 DVD's using both DVD shrink (old and new versions) and DVD Decrypter. Now I keep getting the burn failed error message. Both Shrink and Decrypter work fine when output is to the hard drive, but when sent to the burner, 'failed'. Have tried other burn programs, same result. Burner is a 1 year old LG, but it must be bad?? Have just ordered a new burner, will let forum know what happen. Is this the right move??

Could always try to install a new firmware or try with another brand of discs.

You might have first tried running a DVD/CD cleaning disc on the burner. Maxell makes one that retails for approximately $10US...

Forgot to say that I did use a burner cleaning disk and different brands of blank DVD's. Thanks for the replies.
