No DISK in dvd burner driver?

I tried to back up my asian dvd movie on my pc but it does recognized there is a dvd in the burner..I believe its some kind of software protection on the dvd.

Any solution to fix this problem?

Think it has to do with Region codes. As your burner may not be able to read different region codes than lets say region 1 if you are in the US.

If it was a regional thing than I wouldn't be able to play the movie on my dvd player... The movie was purchase in Malaysia which plays on a Pal system the same as Australia..

The DVD burner can't even see there is a dvd there..

It stll sounds like a region problem. afaik, Malaysia is region 3 your are region 4.

It sounds like your playe is region free and your burner is not.

Is your DVD burner/DVD player region free?

Try running software in the backhground such as Slysoft AnyDVD (comes in a trial) or DVD 43 1.3 (freeware). If the burner then works with the DVD, then it is a region problem. The two bits of software will make the burner region free without hacking the firmware.
