burning at 12x slower than 8???

i just hacked my firmware to burn my 8x ritek r03s at 12x, and i burned a movie in nero at 12x that i had just burned at 8x and it took about 30 seconds longer.

whats up with that?

i just selected the media type, and ticked the 12x box.

nero said i was writing at 12x, but i dont know...

do i need to change the write stragety also? i dont know any thing about that.

Which model Lite-On do you own and which firmware are you running?

With regards to burning at 12x I personally wouldn't, I wouldn't even write at 8x.
