DVD shrink encrypting and burning slow

Ive been using a Liteon DVD burner for about a year and it finally started copying and burning DVDs very slowly. I replaced the unit with another Liteon burner that coppied only one DVD the way it should, and then went to double the time in all the burns threafter. It typically took around 45 minutes to encrypt and now takes 1.5 hours. I have uninstalled/reinstalled EVERYTHING related to the burner and burning/copying software. Any suggestions on what it coud be??

    Thanks

Hello and welcome to the forums. I would "Defragment" your hard drive, if you have not done so lately.

Yes, everything seems to be in working order. Im really confused as to why the new burner worked the way it should for one dvd and then back to doing what the old unit was doing. Im wondering if its possible that I received another defective burner...

"Yes, everything seems to be in working order."

I take that to mean that you have indeed "Defragmented" your HD.

"Im wondering if its possible that I received another defective burner..."

Have you checked to see if there has been a recent "Firmware" update for your burner?
