weird filesize

hi!

I´m trying to make a dvd rip of a 2h 18min movie to 2 cds.
I´m using xmpeg and divx 5.(2 pass, first pass method)
the bitrate-calculator told me to use 1207 bit/s for encoding to get ca. 1,4 gb for the movie.

the result after the 6-hour-job was the movie with mp3-track, but only 200 mb !! (miserable quality)
how could that be?

maybe that was only the result of pass1: in that case be more patient next time

in case the second pass had finished, re-install divx 5.02!
