    non-microDVD subtitles???

    hey all,
first off, i'm new to the forum, so hi all. second, i am not inexperienced in divx, i know how to encode a number of ways, so i hope to add to the forum.

    but on to my question....
i have this dvd (it's in chinese, but NTSC) that i ripped the VOBs off of. the way i usually convert vob to divx is by DVD2AVI, but in this movie, i need subtitles, and DVD2AVI doesn't have any subtitle options (to my knowledge). so, i looked all around, and the only decent subbing tools i could find were for microDVD, a program which i do not use and do not plan to. so my question is, how do i get english subtitles to display in the movie (NOT as a .sub file that i keep with the movie, and NOT with microDVD, i just want the subs straight in the divx).

ANY help with this would be greatly appreciated, if possible, i would like to just use the vobs (i dont have the dvd any more, but i can get it).

    thanks all

OK so you want subs burned into the movie. There are a number of tools that does this, Flask0.6 with the subtitles fix, DVDX, vobsub + (avisynth->)virtualdub.

Easiest way to do vobsub + avisynth->virtualdub is to use GordianKnot

Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.
