weird problem wit WMP 7.1

ok im running 2 systems both Running Windows 2000 w/SP3, and all the latest updates.

one is AMD Athlon T-Bird 900MHZ, 512MB SDRAM.

other is P4 1.5GHz, 512MB RDRAM.

now windows media player 7.1 with DivX 5.0.2 pro runs like a dream. everyhting runs perfect.

however on my Athlon system, everything was running great, then one day WMP decided not to play divx files anymore.

ive tried reinstalling both WMP 7.1 and divx 5.0.2 several times but to no avail.

anyone know what the hell would cause this?

Try other players, such as WMP 6.4 or PowerDivX. In addition, check that the codec is still resident in your system by using Virtualdub to open any of your DivX files. You will get a video-related error message if the codec is no longer installed in your system.
