    VirtualDub preventing deint

    Virtualdub keeps warning me about "Deinterlacing while im about to save the avi file." It cannot continue so I have to go without deint. , my movies look horrible with those horizontal linings. how can I make it do it? or force it?

      What procedures are you using PRIOR to VirtualDub?

      If the initial conversion software allows for deinterlacing (and/or inverse telecine, if applicable) let THAT software perform the function, before using VirtualDub...

          ahh...

          im using smartripper or clonead xp for dvd ripping, then I use DVD2AVI to generate the d2v file. load that file to VFAPI to load a fake avi file for VirtualDub. Since virtualdub comes with deinterlace options on it, they don't seem to work even after the full complete avi file is produced. During preview mode too, the deint does not work either.

          What do I need to do?
