Who can explain me Audio Interleaving?

    Hi There

Each time I rip a DVD I come over this audio interleaving question...
I read a lot about what values there should be if using AC3, but I wonder what the best values are when using MP3 (CBR or VBR)?
I saw that the filesize is a bit smaller if using higher values and I had no problems playing a file with interleaving each frame nor with interleaving each 25 frames or any value inbetween...

Can someone tell me what the optimal values are and what might happen if using higher/lower values?

    Thanks a lot!

There are many possibilities, I suppose. Personally I find interleaving the audio every 1000 ms works very well and I have been using this for a long time.

      i use either preload 1000 + interleave every 250ms.

nandubs default settings, however, work just fine as well.

        Hi There

Thanks for mentioning preload....what's this good for?
Is that an instruction to the player to load some audio samples in advance that he wont run in any performance problems?

I once read here something about some players didn't like it when the interleaving was set to 23 or something like that...?

        Thanks for any help

        Matt
