    can someone tell me some software that makes divx movies smaller because im running out of space

        How small????
        You can recompress with a lower bitrate = quality loss.

          i dont mind at all the files are around 250mb and i want them to be 150mb it doesnt matter about quality loss

            Just curious....Is re-compressing your files really worth it?
            It takes a lot of time.The quality loss will be permanent.
            IMHO I think burning them onto cd's are much easier.

                gs0666 provided all the information that should be necessary for this problem:

                re-encoding suing a lower bitrate

                - open file in virtualdub
                - select a compression codec AND apropriate bitrate in the video section
                - set audio to either direct stream or use a lower compression, too
                - file => save as
