What is the difference between Avi and OpenDML Avi??

I am using FlaskMPEG .6, and I do not know which output format is better. There are plain Avi and OpenDML Avi, also there is an third one: bbMPEG Encoder. I did try three of them already. I am using DivX 4.12 Codec.



Can someone can explain the difference between those three formats???

Open DML avi is the 'new' avi file format, it supports avi files larger than 2GB and, if I recall correctly it also has support for audio video sync marks.
You should use OpenDML whenever possible.

bbMpeg is for mpeg encoding, for vcd's.

Well...

It's a matter of taste, if u like 0.594 use that, personally I prefer 0.6 because it offers perfect (in my experience) ifo parsing*, this makes it easier to make movies with subtitles embedded directly in the avi file.
