Flask Detected FPS

I am having a deal with converting a video that has "Detected FPS: 29.97 " and this is the other "FPS: 29.97" I set flask to 29.97 in the time base(fps) area under the video tab. Now when i go to playback the video it will speed up and slowdown throughout the entire time its playing. Fast-Normal-Fast-Normal. What can I do about this. I have done pretty many movies and this one has to be difficult. Please help....thanx in advance.

Try changing the FPS setting under the "Video" tab to 23.976fps...

I thought u set that to whatever Flask tells u the fps are? I will give it a shot once I get them DVDs back. Thanx for the help, greatly appreciated!!!
