Hello all!
Ok, so I've poured over heaps of posts and read loads of articles on ripping/converting and am just about ready to make Divx movies. I plan to use Smartripper/Gordian Knot, but have a question.
My main purpose in creating Divx movies is so I can watch them anywhere, on my MS Smartphone
There's an Divx player for the phone and having downloaded some trailers, it's very impressive. I only need the movie to be 176 * 220, the max screen size of the phone. (I use VirtualDub to rotate 90 deg so that it fits nicely onto the phone screen in landscape) So my question is basically, can GK be used to produce the movie in those dimensions above, or would I be best creating it a standard resolution and using VirtualDub to resize and rotate? I don't want to be overprocessing if it can be avoided. Oh, the final audio quality can be pretty low, typically MP3 16kbit/s 11,025Hz, Mono.
Thanks for any advice,
FrankyG
