How to Adjust Brightness when Converting?!?!?!

hi.... i have a questioun...and want some help.
can we brighten the colors when converting thorugh DVDx or Gordian Knot? i know there is an option in DVD2AVI to adjust the color levels and brightness, and when you open the DVD2AVI project in GK, it opens with the new color and brightness settings, but when the movie is converted, the colors are the ORIGINAL as in the DVD..... how to convert DVDS with brightness (like in powerdvd when you go to options > Video > and then select bright, the movie looks Awsome coz some DVDs are of Dark print and when they are converted to DIVX they get even darker)..... ...

    Thanx.......

    Hi

with DVDx you can brighten the input color
by enabling the luminance filter in the input settings
and adjusting gain and offset values.

but be very careful with that or you get a much to bright
    video.

before you do that I strongly recommend that
you check the overlay settings in you graphic card settings
I guess your card uses a YUV 2 surface by default
(the most mpeg4 codecs use Yv12)
so maybe you only have to adjust the overlay "intensity".
(If you own an ati card ... there is a slider to adjust that)

and then play the movie you already encoded once again.

uuhh I forgot..... in the Gordian Knot rip pack
the virtual dub tool should provide you with brightening FILTERS
      .......

Virtual dub--> Video (set full processing mode) --> Filters
-->Add -->brighness/contrast (adjust to your needs but be also careful)
