Way too slow,,Plz give advice

Hi there, I don't rip dvd's (never have done! But I will l8r)

I capture videos from TV and then encode directly to MPEG2, do this about 3-4 times until it is good and brilliant quality, then to DIVX fast motion 6000 bitrate:

hmmm, yes, that was my original posting, please be careful in future, although no harm done, as long as no one is taking the mickey out of my enocodings.
