    No Audio Compression Available

I need some help capturing directly from TV (Cable and Satelite) to DivX. I use VirtualDub to capture the video into divx and the audio into PCM format (ive heard you get sync problems when you encode to divx/mp3 directly).

Anyway when i open the captured file in VirtualDub and go to Audio compression it doesnt list many compression formats...all i want to do is compress the audio into mp3...the only options i have are PCM, ADPCM, GSM and a few others which ive never heard of..most of which are crap anyway.

Without compressing the audio to mp3 whats the point?? The file sizes are too big. Is this a sound card issue or do i need to install something??

    Id appreciate some help

    Thanks
