performance hit for slow/slowest in divx 5.1.1

i've encoded about 10 times with divx 5.1.1 and i've found that there is a large performance hit going from standard to slow (e.g. from about 22fps to 8fps: about 300% slower) and that there is a much smaller performance hit going from slow to slowest (e.g. from about 8fps to 6fps: about 25% slower) (of course, everything else being equal).

do these figures sound right to you (if you have experience with divx 5.1.1)?

I think it's awesome! I used slowest mode on a 98 minute movie, bitrate 650. Took me 19 hours to finish, but the file size was 530 megs and had really good quality. Now, I'm working on others with this same setting. (slowest; 650 kBit\sec) Oh, and I also slid the low motion bar all the way to the right. I'm figuring, for a 200 minute movie, it should take a really long time.
