    Calculating audio delay???

Sometimes I get annoyed when I get a badly encoded file, such as with some pretentious apple user encoding with xvid and a VBR mp3 audio track, which normally desynchs by the end of the file, and doesn't update immediately when you skip to another part of the file (like older versions of divx used to.)

So, when I re-encode to CBR mp3 and divx, which is my non-pretentious codec of choice, I am appalled that I have to manually work out how much to delay the audio by.

Is there a program that would let me automatically work out how much a delay there is between the audio and the video???

Do you have a link for that? My searches in google aren't specific enough for me to find a piece of software with that name, since the word is used countless thousands of times for different products and in different contexts.

Found it in the end, though it crashes when I try to use it for no reason.

Any other programs which can easily be used to visualise the video and audio streams so that you can easily see how much the audio is delayed by???
