    interlacing problems

I have done a ton of dvd ripping and encoding to several different formats, but the one that is making me pull out my hair is episode dvd's like futurama. I am using smartripper to rip the episodes that I want and I have used Flask Mpeg and Xmpeg and both are able to encode the episodes. But about 25% of the file has interlacing problems. It's not horrible but I have seen perfect rips from others. I have played around with all the different deinterlacing methods, but none seem to work. The only option that works somewhat is "Reconstruct Progressive Images".

I'm just curious if anyone has successfully ripped and encoded episode dvd's to xvid or divx without any interlace artifacts. The three that I am most interested in are Simpsons, Futurama, and Family Guy. If you have, I am very interested how you did it.
