no i am not talking about ripping from dvd.
i was trying to convert divx movie that i downloaded from morpheus, to vcd using TMPGenc.

I haven't looked at what the others suggested, and i'm probably saying something they said, but i would use DVD2AVI to make a very, very small .d2v file that can be opened with TMPGEnc and it'll make a .wav for ya if ya want it to. What's the quality of the divx? Gimme details and maybe i can help you come up with some good settings for TMPGEnc. I might not actually be of help but i'd like to try.
