You may want to check out the GK faq's and upgrade to a later version. Or try other software such as Nandub, Virtualdub, etc... You can find good guides at vcdhelp.com, divx-digest.com, and doom9.

I've got an idea. Because Win Me sux=) you shuld switch to for example Win Xp that works much better. But if you want to keep Me (that I only had problem with when I had it) I'm afraid I can't help you if you got the latest of all the problems.

Windows ME is flawed. My recommendation would be to either "downgrade" to Win 98 or "upgrade" to 2000 or XP. Depending on your system. If you have a fairly old computer I would not upgrade to XP.

I know that WIN ME is flawed but that 's irritates me that doesn't
works...I will test some other things before installing win 2000.

There's nought wrong with Win ME.
I use it all the time for all my encoding without fail. I don't use G-Knot, so can't help you there, as I don't like them do it for you apps. I just use CladDVD, DVD2AVI (or FlaskMpeg Xis3.0e Expert Edition v2 what Xmpeg could have been) and Virtual Dub

In all the posts I've read and answered this is the first to mension probs with Win ME. All are mainly XP and 2k. If you want the most stable OS with the best compatabillity with 99% of apps use good old Win98SE.

XP is causing more posts than any other OS.

                    Yes mate

                    Win ME version : 4.90.3000

Codec version : DivX 4.12 with DiVX 3.11 installed over the top (or DivX 5 with 3.11 over the top, but not that keen on 5 at the mo) I always install 3.11 over the top which ever.

                    MpegLayer3 version : Fraunhofer MP3 Codec Pro

Software that you install : I stated the software I use for encoding above, but maybe you mean the player I use.

                    I use BSPlayer www.bsplayer.org

If you mean what software I have running with the OS:

Norton Utilities and Anti-Virus 2001, Zone Alarm pro (i.e. the one you pay for), Nero Burning Rom 5.5.x (what ever update is out).
Office 97 pro (old but I prefer it to 2k), PowerDVD 3.0, Ulead Photo Impact 5.0 and loads of DivX apps, but far to much to list.

One thing though I do not use any codec packs like nimo etc, I jus install what I need when I need it.

Enough info for you or would you like to know all my systems
