DIVX with Multichannel MP3 ??

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF IT'S POSSIBLE TO MAKE A SURROUND DIVX WITHOUT .AC3 SOUND.

I MEAN:
AC3 TAKES MUCH MB'S ON DISK
CAN I USE OTHER MP3 CODEC WITH 5 SOUND CHANNELS ?

I have found the best results converting my .AC3 stream into a Joint Stereo Mp3 at 128 Kb/s using BeSweet. Not quite 5.1 surround, but what more can you expect from getting its file size over a third smaller? Personally, I would much rather give most of my final filesize to my video. ESPECIALLY, on DVD to 1 CD rips.
