    Max/Min Quantizer

Can someone please give me the best Max/Min quantizer settings they use in divx 5? I have enery thing else down. And anyone know the best settings for the rest of the advanced parameters in divx 5?

Also, does keeping a video in aspect ratio help the quality/size of the video?

    Thanks.

I would tihnk that the deafult settings for the quantisizers gives the best quality, but experimenting is always encouraged. And keeping the apect ratio does mean better quality, especially if it means a better bitixel ratio.

Yeah. I finally found out that HQ bicubic filtering works best with aspect ratio

I use Max/Min quantizer of 1, and 725 kbps. It works well for most videos. I bump the kbps up to 825 for shorter movies, and set the max/min to the default.

Setting the max/min quantisers to one is probably a bad idear. First of all the lowest quantiser divx5 will use is 2. Secondly and more importantly the quantisers override bitrate settings, with max=min you might as well use quality based encoding 100% = quantizer 2. For DVD rips you should use the default min=2 max=12, or maybe max=8 if you are aiming for 2 cd rips.
