    Encoding problem

    Hi, guys.

I have a problem when i'm encoding movies with VirtualDub. When I encode a movie and the file has not the size I want, if I try to encode the movie again at a different bitare, I get the same filesize. Is there a way to solve this problem?
I encounted this problem with all versions of DivX.

P.S. Before encoding with VirtualDub I use DVD2Avi.

Maybe the bitrate is higher than needed. If the movie only needs an average bitrate of 1000kbps for best DivX-quality it would make no difference if you use 1000, 2000 or 3000kbps. It will always result in 1000kbps. Better us nandub. The 2-pass-mode always gets close to the wanted filesize.

nandub does not always reach the specified file size if the bit rate is too high. Also if you want to increase the filesize increase the resolution.
