    Problem frameserving

    Hi,

I've been converting AVI (mostly DivX) to (S)VCDs for quite some time now. Most of the time I frameserve (video only!) from VirtualDub (frame rate conversion) to TMPGenc.

I've now come across a specific file with which this does not work!
Although I follow the same steps, TMPGenc says "the format is not supported".

Is there a way around this? Are there formats which are not supported by VirtualDub's frameserver? the file plays a.r. in Windows' Media Player as well as in Virtualdub's preview screen...

    Cheerz,
    Bdzzld.

Is that specific file compressed with DivX5? I've heard that TMPGEnc does not natively support the codec...yet.

I once installed a whole codec-pack and after that VD's frameserving was totally broken and I could only fix it by reeinstalling windows . Dose it still work with other video-files?

        Yep,

The file plays in an evironment with only codec version 4.12 installed as well as one in which (the new) codec 5.01 is installed.

According to VirtualDub (on the system with only codec 4.12) the codec used to (de)compress is:

        DivX MPEG-4 Low-Motion

The file was compressed far before version 5 was released, so that can not be the issue...

This is the only file that gives the "unsupported" error in TMPGenc. Others work a.r. /w the frameserver...
