Will I be able to do this?

I had Behind Enemy Lines DVD. I used Smart Ripper to put it to my HD. I am currently using XP if that makes a difference. A guy suggested I use Vidomi to encode it to another format. So I have done that. My question is will I be able to burn this to a cd and then watch it on tv just like a DVD? Will there be any differences, i.e. sound, frame rate, pixels? Please let me know any info you might have that will help me.
