    What .wma version is this....help

i have decided to test .wma format. i have tried microsofts own command line encoder. I also used Wavelab.

Problem: in bill gates software i know its version 8 cos its called 'Windows Media 8 Emncoding Utility', but i dont know what version Wavelab has done it in.

    How do i find out?

What exactly is your question? WME 8 will output WMA V8. If you used Wavelab to edit that file and you don't know what version Wavelab is saving it as, play the WMA file in WMP 6.4 and go to File -> Properties -> Advanced. You'll see something informative in the Codecs in Use box.

Thanks Enchanter, but when i check it says:

      Filters in use:
      Default DirectSound Devcice
      Windows Media Audio Decoder
      Windows Media Source Filter

      Codec in use:

      Installed ------ Codec
      Yes ------- DivX Audio (128kbps 44hz Stereo)
