win2000 media player problem

I have win2000prof.
In divx configuration properties I enabled "Overlay Extended Mode"
It is known that with this option software player can't play one file in to separate window. so in win2k when I mark a file in the left corner, appears "windows media player" and it opens this file & when I press enter to play it I experience problems with decoder, because it already have been opened.
Can you tell me how to disable "windows media player" in that left corner or advise me something, pleassse

Try getting the new Service Pack 4 which microsoft just release. Should fix your MP problems.
