    playback quality in microdvd

    Hey there

I just ripped a dvd and converted it to divx format (3.11),
using gordian knot 1.0. I viewed the file in DivX player
2.0 alpha and it was PERFECT - BUT viewing it in Microdvd
gives me jagged edges and a blurry image - it's still ok, but
not as perfect as it could be (it looks the same as in windows
    media player).

Why is there any difference at all ?
Doesn't microdvd and wmp use the same decoder that
    divx player uses ?

I want it to look perfect with microdvd as i want to
do the whole chapter listings and menus.

Thanks in advance - really got me stumped...

    Dirk

Ps...how can i get godian knot to give me the option of encoding to divx 5 - i installed the divx 5 codec, but i can't tell gordian knot
to use it - how do i do that ? just a by the way question.

    Found the answer...

It merely required the selecting of YUV mode and OVERLAY in
    the DIVX configuration.
