final movie by using gordian knot: audio out of sync

when my movie finally finishes, and i play the movie, i get the audio slower than the video. what could be the cause of this? could it be i have gordian knot set to split the movie in half on its own? what are some known possibilities for the audio being out of sync on a final version of a movie?
