For those of you out there who have watched anime, say Naruto or Rurouni Kenshi: most of them are pretty good, but some appear rather pixelated (as if antialiasing is turned off). Up until now, I thought that is a defect during the encoding process.
Today I found out this is not so (at least for a couple of files). Here's what I did:
1) I queue up several files, say, file1, file2, and file3 in WMP9 playlist.
2) start playback from file1
3) let file1 completely finishes and file2 automatically starts
4) file2's picture quality is very good (i.e. no pixelation)
5) i clicked on Previous button to go back to file1
6) sometimes during playback i clicked on Next to skip to file2
7) file2's picture quality is pixelated!
8) i clicked on Previous button to go back to file1
9) i repeated steps 2-3
10) file2's picture quality is again very good (i.e. no pixelation)
I tried divx player 2.5 a couple days ago on file2 and it was pixelated; today it's not!
What is going on?
