Playing divx from cd noisy

When I play divx from cd, my cdrom player starts spinning at maximum speed, which is very noisy. What can I do about that (os=win2k)

Copy the file into your harddrive, which is comparatively quieter. I wouldn't bother about the read-ahead optimisation stuff or such.
